Senior Adults

Senior Adults are an important people group at CBC. Our senior adults' ministry provides opportunities for the seniors to grow in their relationship with God through Bible study. We encourage our seniors to stay active through fellowship and activities throughout the year; Rainbow Fellowship seeks to meet these needs of our senior adults.

Sunday School

Various Sunday School classes are offered for this age group. We offer classes both in English (Bereans) and Chinese (Mandarin and Cantonese), taught by caring teachers. For more information about any of these classes, please visit the Sunday School page for English or Chinese.

Outreach

Our seniors have been instrumental in various church functions and community outreach programs. They sponsor and serve during the annual Chinese New Year Luncheons. The Bereans Sunday School class coordinates the Seaman's Project, an annual Christmas outreach ministry with care packages donated to seamen at the Port of Houston. They share the Christmas spirit and message with caroling at various senior resident homes and connect with Baptist Student Ministries at various universities through luncheons.

Fellowship

Our seniors are a fun-loving group who like to go out and explore new things. Periodic one-day trips and longer trips are planned throughout the year. Recent trips have included San Antonio, Lake Jackson, Austin and various locations in the Houston area. Longer trips have been taken to places such as the Ark Encounter in Williamstown, Kentucky.

Rainbow Fellowship

On the 2nd and 4th Thursday of non-summer months at 10:00 am in the Family Life Center (FLC), both Chinese-speaking and English-speaking senior adults attend the Rainbow Fellowship for a time of singing, devotion and informative sessions. Topics cover spiritual growth, health-related issues and other practical subjects pertinent to this group. During the summer months of June - August, Rainbow Fellowship meets once per month (the 2nd Thursday only).

All meetings are open to all adults, ages 18 years and older. Catered lunch is served. FREE LUNCH is provided for the senior in his/her birth month!
