University of Houston Outreach Ministry

Collecting donations for UH International Students from December 8 - January 12, 2025. Please bring the donated items to the CBC front Office under the stairway. Items needed such as bedding (sheets, pillows, blankets), kitchenware (pots, pans, bowls, knives, utensils), small appliances (toasters, microwaves, kettles) and small basic furniture (chairs, small tables). CBC Winter Retreat $200/$50

The Hunt Retreat @ 34711 Hunt Road, Fulshear, TX 77441

Youth Winter Retreat will be from Friday, December 27 to Monday, December 30. Space is limited! Open to youth of CBC Youth Ministry (6-12 grade) and any college and older persons who has a heart to serve and love on youth (i.e. counselors). Female leader/counselors are needed for the retreat. Sign up by December 15 at https://bit.ly/CBCYouthRetreat2024 on the link below for both youth and counselor volunteers. Additional information can be found on the sign-up form. Mandarin is preferred but not required.

If your child is participating in youth or AWANA, please join us Friday nights for fellowship and dinner in Rooms 159 and 163. Food will be served in Room 163 or Office Foyer from 6:30 - 7:30 pm. Afterwards, we will breakout into our respective groups: AWANA in FLC (Kids age 4-5th grade) from 7:30 - 9:15 pm, Youth in Chapel (Middle and High Schoolers) from 7:30 - 9:15 pm, Mandarin Fellowship in Room 163 from 7:30 - 9:00 pm, and English Adults R&R in Room 134 from 7:30 - 9:00 pm for sharing, prayer, and Bible study.

Friday Night Prayer Group meets weekly on Fridays at 7:30 pm in Room 134 Join us for Friday night prayer fellowship each week as we intentionally rest, recalibrate, and are renewed spiritually in the Lord and together as a church family. Kids attending AWANA or ACCESS are invited for the light dinner at the beginning before going off to their respective fellowships as well (dinner is usually provided at 7:00 pm in Room 163.) A potluck fellowship luncheon between the English Adult SS classes and Youth DG's will be held on Sunday, December 29 from 11:15 am to 12:15 pm in the FLC.   Child Dedication: Child dedication is for families who would like to dedicate their young child to the Lord, commit themselves to raise their precious little one up in the way of our Lord, and for the church family to love and support them along this journey. Please register to attend one of our required sessions prior to the dedication.

  Child Baptism: Baptism is an important step of obedience on the journey with Jesus as the child identifies him/herself with the death and resurrection of Christ, and shares his/her desire to follow Jesus with family and friends, and the church family. Please register for the Next Step.

Blood Donation Drive at CBC

Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center will come to CBC on Sunday, January 5, 2025 from 9:00 am - 1:00 pm in the FLC. Please consider donating blood this year to help save lives again! Our goal is 25 people this time! Sign-up or a 15-minute slot to help save a life. Participants will receive a blue hoodie!

From December 1, 2024, through February 28, 2025, all blood donors who successfully donate will automatically receive a complimentary a1c test. The results will be accessible through the donor’s digital account within two weeks of their donation. CBC Chinese School classes are held on Sunday afternoons at 1:30 pm in the Children Center (Room 211). Traditional and Simplified Chinese classes include Chinese character reading & writing, calligraphy, conversation, recital and activity teaching. Wellness Connect Group

Wellness Connect Group will be back in person at CBC Children Center (Room 211) every Tuesday beginning on Tuesday, September 3 from 10:30 to 11:30 am. Please provide your own resistance band, 2-3 lb dumb bells, yoga mat, bottle water and wear comfortable sports cloth. Wellness Connect Group is aimed at increasing flexibility, strength and improving balance. Regular participation in these activities can help reduce risk of falls, increase mental clarity, and alleviate stress and anxiety. Senior Rainbow Fellowship Field trip to Brenham, Texas to visit the Smithsonian traveling exhibit, "Crossroads: Change in Rural America" at The Barnhill Center on Wednesday, January 8.
