Awana - "Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed"

(The founders of Awana derived the Awana name from the first letters of "approved workmen are not ashamed" as taken from 2 Timothy 2:15 of the Bible.)

CBC welcomes children to participate in this international Bible Club Ministry. Awana is open to all children from kindergarten through 5th grade.

Every Friday evening, during the school year (September to May), meetings are held in our Family Life Center (gym) from 7:30 - 9:15 pm.
CBC welcomes children to participate in this international Bible Club Ministry. AWANA is open to all children from kindergarten through 5th grade. The Good News of the Gospel is the main focus of AWANA. The AWANA program incorporates intentional evangelism and discipleship through a balance of learning and fun which includes games, Bible study, singing and fellowship. The children will learn to know, love, and serve the Lord and how to apply His teachings to their lives. The children will be encouraged to participate in fun-filled team activities. AWANA Clubbers learn to memorize and understand Bible verses. Those who participate also have the opportunity to earn achievement awards as they progress through each year.
Everyone participates in a high-energy game time and monthly dessert fellowship.

Come join in Awana and see what the excitement is all about!

If you have questions about any of these programs, please contact Raymond Louie (Awana) at 713-461-0963.
2010-2011

We're glad to have your child in AWANA. The good news of the Gospel is the main focus of the AWANA Club. AWANA incorporates intentional evangelism and discipleship to all through songs, messages, and games. We know that this coming year will be an exciting and rewarding time for the children as they learn more about the Lord and how to apply His teachings to their lives. Not only will they grow in knowledge, but in other ways too, as the children are encouraged to participate in fun-filled team activities.

Parents, the most important way that you can participate is by encouraging your child with their memory work at home during the week. Parents are responsible for dating and signing the Parents page, within each section, to show that they have worked with their child. This helps your child earn extra points.

Points are earned when your child can successfully recite their memory work to their AWANA leader. Points are converted to AWANA dollars that may be redeemed at AWANA shop night. Points are also earned for attendance, dues, uniform, Bible, handbook, visitor(s), and games. Clubbers are awarded ribbons and plaques at the end of the AWANA year for completed handbooks.

Dues are voluntary, not mandatory, and collected at each club meeting to support our AWANA Church Care Missionaries, Raine and Penny Gunn. AWANA Missionaries are fully faith supported. The suggested weekly dues amount is $1.00.
In addition, the children will enjoy planned field trips and monthly dessert nights. If you should have any questions, please call Raymond Louie or the church office at 716-461-0963. We will keep you posted on any upcoming special activities.

Awana Theme Song
Firmly AWANA stands, led by the Lord's commands,
"Approved workmen are not ashamed,"
Boys and girls for His service claimed!
Hail! AWANA! On the march for youth;
Hail! AWANA! Holding forth the truth.
Building lives on the Word of God AWANA stands!
Our Savior following with steps unfaltering,
And love unaltering, His praise we sing,
His banner over us, in service glorious,
We'll fight victorious for Christ our King!
YOUTH ON THE MARCH!
