Oleg Xu
Pastor Oleg was born and raised in Almaty, Kazakhstan, to a family of Chinese immigrants. He was saved in the spring of 1996, when he was an exchange high school student in Silver Bay, Minnesota and was baptized in 1997, during his freshman semester in Edmond, Oklahoma. In 1998, during the International Mission Board's appointment service at First Baptist Church of Del City, Oklahoma, God clearly invited and called Pastor Oleg to gospel ministry.
After completing his undergraduate degree in Accounting in 2001, Pastor Oleg began his seminary training at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. In 1999, God blessed him with his wife, Hsiao Yuan, who also has a heart for ministry and missions. From 2001-2011, he served at Southern Oklahoma Chinese Baptist Church in Norman in various ministerial capacities. Pastor Oleg and Hsiaoyuan followed the Lord's lead to move to Houston in early 2012 for him to serve as English pastor at Sugar Land Chinese Baptist Church. In the fall of 2017, the Lord led them to Chinese Baptist Church, where they are humbled and honored to be a part of God's ministries.
Pastor Oleg's and Hsiaoyuan's life Scripture is 1 Corinthians 1:9: "God is faithful; you were called by him into fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord."
