Outreach Ministry/Serving the new arriving UH International students. Pastor Oleg is collecting donations of these items: twin mattresses, desks, small dining tables, chairs, bookshelves, chicken or vegetarian instant noodles, homemade baked cookies, snacks. Deadline for collection is September 5. Contact P. Oleg for drop off or deliveries.

New CBC Website

Careers/Professionals Fellowship

CBC Women's Fall Bible Virtual
Fellowship (WVBF)

The Women's Fall Bible Fellowship will meet weekly on Thursday evenings from 6:30 - 8:30 pm (September 2 - November 18). RSVP deadline of August 22 for purchasing study books to womensministry@cbchouston.org. With your RSVP, submit your full name, phone number, email address and choice of Class A or B. On August 22 and 29, a registration table in the Sanctuary lobby will be open after worship service. Sign up and collect your study books from Helen Lee or Josephine Choi. Pay by cash or check, payable to "CCIUSAHouston". Also, confirm your enrollment date/location (based on the majority choice of Class A or B (listed below).

Church-wide Prayer Meeting

Please join us on Wednesday, September 1 from 7:00 - 8:00 pm for our all church-wide VIRTUAL prayer meeting. everyone in the CBC family is called to consecrate ourselves on our knees and seek God's favor and His heart for CBC. The zoom link invite will be provided early next week. Please follow the safety protocol and forward the link to only those who are in the CBC family.

Gospel Sunday: Hearing God through
Music

The theme for Sunday Worship Service on Sunday, September 5 is "Hearing God through Music." Pastor Kai Yuen will be playing piano music and sharing the 4 Spiritual Laws. It is a light and relaxing program; please invite non Christian friends and neighbors.

Communion on Sunday, September 5

On Sunday, September 5, we will be holding our monthly communion. During the worship service, the pastor will give instructions to break the bread and give/serve to other family members, etc. Upon arrival for English or Cantonese worship, please pick up the sealed Lord's Supper packets at the foyer desk, before entering the Sanctuary and discard the empty packet when you leave. CBC Youth Registration

CBC YOUTH MINISTRY 2021-2022 registration is now open. In order for your youth to be officially registered with our youth ministry, both student and parent must fill out this form and sign the agreements. Please fill out the Registration Form.

Seeking Youth Leaders

The CBC Youth ministry is accepting new and returning adult leaders to serve in this extremely critical, profoundly instrumental, humbling ministry. We're looking for those who deeply love Jesus and truly love students and their families. We have many ways of serving students from on-the-ground discipleship, to care for youth workers, to administration, to serving youth while away at college. View list of postions. Joint Worship Service

On Sunday, September 12, a Joint Worship Service for all 3 congregations will be from 10:00 - 11:30 am in the Sanctuary. All Sunday School classes will be canceled. More details to follow.

Kids Sunday school | Zoom Huddles

All kids Sunday school will take a break in August. Sunday 2nd-Hour Kids Church continues through August. The new ministry year begins on Sunday, September 12. All parents are to attend the kickoff Sunday in the joint worship service at 10:00 am with their children, followed by registration and sign up in various serving opportunities within KidMin. This is to align our ministry strategy with our mission/vision, to partner with parents in their kids' discipleship process.

Chinese School Begins New Semester

CBC Chinese School classes are held on Sunday afternoons at 1:30 pm, beginning Sunday, September 12. Traditional and Simplified Chinese classes include Chinese character reading & writing, calligraphy, conversation, recital and activity teaching. We are accepting enrollment from Kindergarten (age 5) to 8th grade. Please email any question to cbcchinesesch@gmail.com or contact Amy So (Cantonese) or Jolee (Mandarin). Annual Budget & Nominations
Business Meeting

The Annual Budget & Nominations Business Meeting will be held on Sunday, September 26 at 1:00 pm in the Sanctuary. The Nomination and Budget proposal will be ready for pick up 2 weeks prior to that date. More details to follow.

Sunday Hours Extended

Beginning, July 11, the CBC facility will remain open until 2:30 pm every Sunday

CBC Re-Connecting

CBC Re-Connecting this Summer (June 6 - Aug 29). Download the new summer schedule, revised on 06/11/21. Classes updated include Bible ESL, Youth, Hope and Adult Co-ed. Rev. Andrew Chao will lead the Chinese Senior Adults monthly (1st Sunday of the month) on July 4 & Aug 1; seniors' class will resume weekly beginning September 5. If you have more questions, please contact your SS teachers or call the church office.

Summer Prayer Break

The 2 Sugar Land Regional Groups will take a summer break and resume in September after Labor Day.

Regional Prayer Meeting

CBC Herb Garden

An Eagle Scout Project is planned for CBC's herb garden. Please do not plant your own seeds or dig out any plants from the herb garden.

Co-Workers for Children/Youth
Ministries

Recruitment of co-workers: In order to prepare for the second phase of CBC's open church meeting, in children and youth ministry, more brothers and sisters are needed to participate in the ministry. If you are interested in participating, please contact Geraldine Lee (Director of Children's Ministry) or Pastor Justin (Youth pastor).

CBC Seeking Administrative Assistant

CBC is seeking an Administrative Assistant to support and assist the Pastors in managing and carrying out all ministries. To assist, organize, and promote special events. To be a liaison between the staff and pastors. The Administrative Assistant will oversee all secretaries and will help to promote and grow the overall church wide ministry. Personal Evangelism Training (PET)

Personal Evangelism Training (PET) online to mobilize and equip CBC members to boldly share Jesus Christ. PET is scheduled for every Thursday morning at 10:00 am. Join the Zoom Meeting by contacting the CBC office for the password.

Receive Weekly Scriptures in July

The Prayer Scripture Text will be sent weekly in July. The weekly Prayer Scripture in April will help us focus on God. It will be sent out via FlockNote.
