- The Cynics' Powerful Words
The attack: emotionally
The attack: morally
The attack: intellectually - The Clarity of God's Promise
Jesus will return. There will be an end with the destruction of the world.
"But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar;..." (v. 10)
"...judgment and destruction of the ungodly." (v. 7)
"But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, where righteousness dwells." (v. 13) - The Certainty of Its Fulfillment
"Then will appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven. And then all the peoples of the earth will mourn when they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven, with power and great glory. And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other." (Mt. 24:30-31) - The Choices We Need to Make
-
a. Peace with God by accepting Jesus: "Therefore, since we have been justified
through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,..." (Rm. 5:1)
b. Share the gospel: "...he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance." (II Peter 3:9)
c. Live holy and godly lives: "...since you are looking forward to this, make every effort to be found spotless, blameless..." (II Peter 3:14)
d. Go and reach the world: " And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come." (Matt. 24:14)
