Monthly Sunday Church-wide Prayer Meetings
will be held on the second Sunday of the month, schedule permitting, in Room 163
from 12:30 - 1:15 pm. (Please refer to the bulletin for future
announcements.) Each month, a ministry, a committee, or a church-wide activity will be featured so
we can learn how to better pray for that particular area. Let's lift up CBC in prayer together
during this time of transition.

Concerning the NTT
-
Thank God for Dr. Lawless' encouragement for all the sub-teams
to seek God and to wait on Him. Pray for the sub-teams to diligently strive to
meet the goal of producing a united church with a clear direction. Pray for patience
and understanding as each sub-team works together to move CBC forward.
-
Praise the Lord for the good progress made with the various
AP sub-teams. Pray that God would continue to help each sub-team to accomplish His
work in His way and in His timing.
-
Pray that God would show CBC His vision for our church
as we seek Him, and for the NTT to have God-led motives as we develop our vision statements.
-
Each regular attendee would be seeking God with all of
our hearts through Bible reading/study and prayer, that we would listen to God,
and that we would obey God, especially in seeking God for His vision for
our church (what kind of church would we like to be?). Also, pray that
every regular attendee would make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit
through the bond of peace (Ephesians 4:3), and that we would be willing to give
up something that is a personal preference for the sake of church unity (John 17:23).
-
God's provision for our physical, mental,
emotional and spiritual well being for us to effectively balance family life,
church life and work life.
-
For the Personnel Committee as they work on fulfilling the
charter/objectives of the Staffing AP sub-team. Thank God for all of their hard
work.
-
Pray for Henry Chan, Hon-Man Lee, Nancy Lo and Gene Yee as they
prepare to serve on Church Council. The first meeting will be Tuesday, July 22.
-
Pray for all the AP Sub-teams and the NTT as they will review
closure plans and/or execute the closure plans.
Concerning our Ministries
Pray for the following:
-
Pray for the praise teams, speakers and all those who serve
in the English and Chinese worship services:
- Sunday, July 20: Pastor Andy Cherry will speak in the English worship service and Pastor Ricky Leung in the Chinese service.
- Sunday, July 27: Pastor Andy Cherry will speak in both worship services.
-
Pray for God's wisdom and strength for the CBC pastoral and
administrative staff to do the high volume of work.
-
Pray that God would bring many to pray at one of the corporate
prayer meetings and that God would reveal His vision to us as we humbly seek Him:
Monday nights at Tommy & Mabel Ligh's in Bellaire; Thursday evenings at CBC, Iris Wong's
in Katy and Wayne and Luz Gor's in Sugar Land.
-
Pray for Joanna Zhu and Andrew and Winnie Tang as they prepare
to share their Saipan experiences with our congregation on Sunday, Aug. 17.
-
Praise for an awesome baptismal service this past Sunday, July 13.
Pray for the individuals that were baptized. Pray that God will use CBC to encourage
them to grow in their faith.
-
Pray for CBC committees and ministries as they prepare their
budgets for the new church year.
-
Prayer for the physical and spiritual needs of certain people.
Concerning our Missionaries
Pray for all our missionaries.
Concerning our Nation and City
Pray for our nation as we will elect a new president this year.
Pray that moral, God-fearing, pro-life and pro-family men and women be selected,
supported and find favor in local, state, and national campaigns.
Concerning our World
Pray for the peace of Jerusalem. (Psalm 122:6)
