Living Unveiled Lives
2 Corinthians 3:7-18

The Problem:

Moses' seemingly selfish act - vs. 13

The Reality:

Moses's act was not a selfish one, but a selfless one.

The Practicality:

By having the veil removed, we have the freedom (vs. 17) to:

  1. Behold God (vs. 18)

  2. We become what we behold.

  3. Be real before others.

  4. Galatians 6:2  "Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ."

1 John 1:7  "But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin."

What On Earth Am I Here For?
WEEK ONE - 40 Days of Purpose

Life’s 3 Greatest Questions:

1. The Question of Existence: Why was I created?

Jeremiah 20:18 “Why did I ever come out of the womb; to see trouble and sorrow and to end my days in shame?”
I was created to glorify God.
Isaiah 43:7  “Everyone who is called by my name, whom I created for my glory, whom I formed and made.”

Ephesians 1:11-12 (NRSV)  “In Christ we have also obtained an inheritance, having been destined according to the purpose of him…so that we might live for the praise of his glory.”

2. The Question of Significance: Does my life matter?
Isaiah 49:4a  “But I said ‘I have labored to no purpose; I have spent my strength in vain and for nothing.’”

Ecclesiastes 2:11  “Yet when I surveyed all that my hands had done and what I had toiled to achieve, everything was meaningless, a chasing after the wind…”

I was made to last forever.
2 Corinthians 5:1  “For we know if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.”
3. The Question of Intention: What is my purpose?

I find my purpose by being in a relationship with God.

John 10:10  “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”

Psalms 73:25-26  “Whom have I in heaven but you? And earth has nothing I desire besides you. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.”
