What Jesus did to Develop Effective Witnesses
Acts 1:1-11

1.  Solid Biblical Instruction (vs. 2, 3b)

2.  Firm Belief in their Message (vs. 3)

3.  Baptism with the Holy Spirit (vs. 5)
 

How the Spirit helps us with our mission:

    Speech (Mk. 13:11)
    Power (Acts 4:8-13, 13:9-12)
    Instruct individuals (Acts 10:19)
    Restraint  (Acts 16:6-7)
    Instruction to  churches (Acts 15:28)
    Tasks  (special) (Acts 13:2)

What to Do in the Waiting Period
Acts 1:12-26

In between Jesus’ ascension and Pentecost, the disciples were:

1)  Persevering in faith (vs. 15-20)

2)  Protective of their unity (vs. 14)

3)  Persistent in prayer (vs. 14)

4)  Precise in their selection. (vs. 21-26)

Is Jesus Worthy Our All?
2 Corinthians 5

INTRODUCTION

Katrina
• People have an innate need for other people.
• Ultimately, people have a deep need for Jesus.
I.  WHAT ARE THE REASONS?
• God wires us to connect with Him.
• Earthly people are not fit to live with God in heaven.
• Jesus is the only way to the Father.  (John 14:6)
II. WHAT’S NEW FOR THOSE WHO CHOOSE CHRIST?
• 2 Corinthians 5:17, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he (she) is a new creation.” (NIV)
CONCLUSIONS — Is Jesus worthy our all?

CHALLENGES

• Ephesians 4:1
• 2 Corinthians 5:10
RESPONSE
• 2 Corinthians 5:20, “We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God."
