Worshiping Under the New Wineskins
Mt. 9:10-17

How does this parable relate to a Worship service?

I.  The Emotion of our Worship - celebration (vs. 14-15)

Col. 2:6-7  "So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness."

"Calling a church service a 'time of worship' does not always make it so."
- George Barna

II.  The Elements of our Worship - to draw people deeper into the presence of God.  (vs. 15-17)

Colossians 2:8  "See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the basic principles of this world rather than on Christ."

III.  The Evaluation of our Worship - how we impact our culture/community. (vs. 10-13)

Is worship service for believers or unbelievers?

I Cor. 14:23-25   "So if the whole church comes together and everyone speaks in tongues, and some who do not understand or some unbelievers come in, will they not say that you are out of your mind?  But if an unbeliever or someone who does not understand comes in while everybody is prophesying, he will be convinced by all that he is a sinner ...and the secrets of his heart will be laid bare.  So he will fall down and worship God, exclaiming, 'God is really among you!'"
